Baby Gift Basket Ideas

Are you planning a baby shower? Or maybe a friend has recently had a baby. What better way to express that you care for your friend and her new bundle of joy, than a baby gift basket.

A baby gift basket can be themed , and be a totally personal gift from you to your friend or family member. Fill the basket with treats and delights that will give pleasure to both parents and the new baby. You could make use of the following list to make your own gift basket, that is more personal and less expensive than the commercialized products.

Nursery items. You could include a colourful mobile to amuse the baby, lullaby music to soothe or nursery rhyme cd's. Bigger items such as layettes, changing mats for tables and cribs can be found in deluxe baskets, or maybe a piece of nursery furniture. Educational toys are also very good and help to stimulate the baby and help mental development.

Gifts Also place in your basket items such as rattles teethers,  dummies feeding bottles bibs and babies cutlery these make invaluable add-ons to your basket.

Bath. Bath products are commonly found in baby gift baskets and are very popular. These products include baby shampoo, baby powder, wipes, baby bath , nail scissors or clippers cotton buds brush set and even bath toys that baby can enjoy. Baby clothes can also be a good idea to include, or maybe something that is hand knitted. This will add a very personal message to your gift basket.

If you are making a gift basket for a toddler of a younger child, then choose items that suit the child's age. Choose things such as soft toys, board games, board books also things like Piggy Banks and colouring sets will be a delight. Clothes are also nice to include for toddlers in your gift basket.

If you are planning on giving the gift basket as a baby shower present, it's nice to include things like baby cookies and cakes maybe even some sweets or chocolates. Baby announcement cards, small picture frames or photo albums make great gifts and add more fun to the recipient basket. Small caring gestures like this are greatly appreciated .Another great thing to include is a baby first year book or photo shoot.

Gourmet food, wines and other fine food may also be placed inside a baby gift basket for the parent's celebration.

Often, bows and ruffles adorn the baby gift basket. But one could still be more creative by doing a decoupage of baby pictures or baby items. Other handmade crafts may add personal touch to your basket. They could be in the form of papier mache', origami, sculpture, small painting, woven or knitted items, etc.

If you are giving the baby gift basket during a christening or baptism, a small bible, cross or even a christening cup is a good idea and is something that can be kept. A small gesture like giving a well thought out and personal gift basket can bring a smile to the parents faces and a feeling that you really care.
