You get into credit card debt, which falls behind in our bills, and we can not make our money work for us. However, if we learn the proper money management techniques when they are younger, by the time they are responsible for bills, credit cards, loans and mortgages, we are better prepared to manage our financial affairs. When children are small, one of the first gifts you can get is a piggy bank. This is supposed to be the start of teaching to save, but in most cases, these banks crumbled to buy toys, games, and even ice cream from ice cream truck.
The degree most memorable of my entire school experience was 4 th grade. I think I learned More on that level, but the most memorable thing I remember is learning to balance a checkbook. Everyone in the class had a "bank account" with a checkbook. We have learned how to write checks, track deposits and withdrawals, to avoid overdrafts, and of course how to spend. To do several things in the classroom would win money to put into our accounts. Of course, money is intended, but in the class that used to buy real things. Every month or so would have an auction that could Bidding on items such as games, beach towels, books, toys and other small things.

This experience certainly helped me and my colleagues class in our money management skills. I do not know how many of them continued to practice what we have learned as I got older, but I think this is an excellent way begin to inform children about money. Not many adults can not even balance a checkbook and the age of 9 years, I understood everything.

Instead of simply give the child a piggy bank that will be tempted to dip into from time to time, open a savings account in your name so your money can earn interest. Teach importance of money management and let them start at an early age. Instead of simply giving children money for all the extras they want, they do some extra chores or jobs to earn money for themselves. This will also give a greater appreciation for the things they buy. The lesson I learned in grade 4 may be useful for them too. Teach them to balance a checkbook, and even help them learn the basics with a "fake checking account." I think this was an excellent way for me to learn because when I have my own real checking account at age 18, knew how to keep it in order. You can even start a portfolio with your child. You can see the mistakes they have made money and wise decisions you have made in recent years.

Everyone should be "smart money", not just adults. If children learn money management skills are less likely to be screwed on loans and cards credit when they get older. Be aware of what to avoid and what to invest in.
