Lord of the Flies??? the boy with the mulberry colored birthmark?? 10 points!!?

I can't find the point of him going missing. I don't think he was killed by the boys. He may have been killed by the fire but why him? and right after he was telling them about the beastie thing too? and how come at the end of the book the kids only say two kids have been killed ( Simon and Piggy) and don't mention the little boy... maybe because he's of no significance to them? maybe not, this is the only part i don't fully grasp. if you could even attempt to answer any of the questions it'd be greatly appreciated.

Mulberry faced boy as he was called, was killed when there was a bush fire. Piggy is the only one who notices that he is gone because he is the only one that wanted order. At the end, Ralph is asked how many people died and he wasn't aware of Mulberry faced boys death because it was only piggy who cared. i hope this helps
